"Working the Riffle" by Susan Luckey Higdon

"Working the Riffle" was painted after a float trip on Oregon’s Deschutes River in my husband’s wooden Mckenzie river boat. He was wading downriver and had beached the boat on a gravel bed. The surrounding canyon rock was glowing in late afternoon light.
