Robert DeMott 
is the Edwin and Ruth Kennedy Distinguished Professor at Ohio University and a leading John Steinbeck scholar. He is a passionate fly fisher and upland bird hunter. DeMott lives in Athens, Ohio.


Howell Raines worked at the New York Times from 1978 to 2003, ultimately serving as executive editor of the paper. He lives in Henryville, Pennsylvania.
